Seymour Duncan Pickups

Producing those sweet tones is thanks largely to the pickup selection that Yamaha have opted for - a pair of SSL-1 single coils for the Neck and Middle, and a TB-14 bridge humbucker, all courtesy of Seymour Duncan.

Situated in the Neck and Middle positions you'll find appropriately wound Seymour Duncan SSL-1, their vintage-voiced "Staggered Strat" pickups. Constructed to recreate that bright, glassy bell tone that launched a certain guitar to fame in the 1950s, these pickups produce a crisp and immediate treble attack, with an articulate and focused low end.

In the bridge position you'll find a fantastic TB-14 Humbucker, also from Seymour Duncan. This pickup offers a nice, full tone, with a scooped midrange, and strikes the perfect balance between bass and treble. Because of this tonal response, the TB-14 is great for pretty much any kind of music, whether you play clean or dirty, and makes the perfect companion to the two SSL-1 single coils.

Add to this the inclusion of a Push/Pull tone control that allows you to split the TB-14 humbucker into a single coil pickup, and you have an even wider range of pristine tones at your disposal.

Reliable Hardware

With the Wilkinson vibrato bridge you can add a whole world of inflections onto your playing, from slight shimmers to deep dive bombs.

Because of the Grover locking tuners, you can perform these actions on the vibrato without ever compromising the guitar's tuning! These locking tuners also allow you to perform string changes faster than ever before.
