Pony" is the third album by the up-and-coming British singer-songwriter Rex Orange County, real name: Alexander O'Connor. 21 years old, born in 1998 in Haslemere, Surrey, a suburb of London. He taught himself to play drums and piano, but at the age of 16 he entered the prestigious BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon, which was once attended by Adele and Amy Winehouse. In 2018, the album was selected as the second place in the "BBC Sound of 2018". She made her first visit to Japan at Summer Sonic 2018, where her amazing live performance attracted a great deal of attention. Two years after their last album, "Apricot Princess," in which they demonstrated their precocious talent to the fullest, they have finally completed their third album, "Pony," their first with Sony Music. This album was produced at Strongroom Studios in East London, and Rex wrote the lyrics, composed the music, recorded, and performed almost everything on the album. Ben Baptiste, who has been a close friend of Rex's, co-produced the album, mixing and engineering, and the preceding single "10/10" was highly praised by the international media as a "must know" song. The ever-popular Rex has performed at major music festivals in France, Germany, and Australia this summer, and premiered "10/10" in the UK ahead of the release of his new album.
