The MSE PRO Monomolecular silicic acid can be soluble in water, for the binary weak acid, in solution gradually condensed to form insoluble polyacids, to get a colloidal solution, called silicate sol, the latter add electrolytes, or in the appropriate concentration of silicate solution with acid, then get silicate gel, dehydration of the porous solid, called silica gel Silica gel. It can be used as absorbent of gas and vapor, catalyst or carrier of other catalysts. Since silica is not hydrated with water, silicic acid is mainly produced by reacting silicate solution with strong acid.
